Helen R. Myers

Helen Ruth Myers, 92, Passed away in Phoenix, Arizona, on Wednesday, December 17, 2014. Born November 21, 1922 in Henry County, Ohio, to Charles and Leota Houts. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, of 48 years, Robert Ulrich Myers. Bob’s Air Force career gave Helen opportunities to set up homes on both sides of the Atlantic. They resided in Ohio, Michigan, England, Germany and California, before settling in Tucson in 1961. A farm girl at heart who fell in love with the desert, Helen became a Master Gardner. In her later years, she enjoyed volunteering at the Davis Monthan AFB thrift shop. She loved to get together with friends and was known to be fun-loving and spunky. For years, she and Bob were very active in the Arizona Philatelic Community. Helen is survived by her sisters, Marie, Millie, Arlene, Betty, and Pat, her two children, Greg (Lynn) Myers and Mike (Kathy) Myers, grandchildren Brad (Sara) Myers and Robin (Kevin) Klein. She had one great grandchild, Giuliana. Her brothers, Bernard and Chuck, predeceased her. A memorial service will be held for Helen at East Lawn Chapel 5801 East Grant Road, Tucson at 12:00PM, on Saturday, January 3, 2015.
