Henry 'Pops' Valdez
May 2, 1956 – June 9, 2019
Henry “Pops” Valdez was born May 2nd, 1956 in Sonora, Mexico. He was a proud legal immigrant and patriot of these United States. He worked for many years as a barber but also became a jack of all trades. He loved classic hot rods, music, western movies and was convinced aliens are real. He was a master welder and an amazing gardener. Those two things combined are who Pops was. He was as strong as the steel he would weld but as gentle as the flowers he grew. He is loved by so many people that we cannot even begin to list them here. He is survived by his cherished wife of 37 years Sandy, son Paul, daughter Monica, and his grandsons, Preston and Zachary. He also leaves behind his parents Fernando and Micaela, brothers Miguel (wife Chris), Chito (wife Dee Dee) and sisters Petra (husband Monchie), Lupe (husband Don), Rosa (husband Paul), Betty (husband Alex), nieces and nephews and too many friends to count. Preceding him in death were his brothers Chuy, Meño and his sister Lety. Pops entered his eternal rest on June 9th at 5:46 p.m. His impact on so many lives will never be forgotten. We love you and we miss you Pops.

Sandy and Monica
I am completely saddened and heartbroken of hearing of Henry's passing. I am so sorry for your loss and I pray that your sorrow is lifted from you soon, perhaps through reflection and all of the good memories you are left with of Henry.
My brother, 19, I used to call him in the last several years, thank you so much for all that you taught me--about life and living!! A man that beat the odds and learned to live life like you thought you should. You became self sufficient and became very proficient in many trades. You shared all that knowledge and skill with all of us, we your family and friends are in your debt.
I pray that the Lord grants you eternal peace in heaven.
I'm sure that we will see each other in the future, until then, we miss you dearly and love you very much.

Sandy and Monica, I am truly very sorry for the loss of your husband and the loss of your pops. My nino (tio) was special to all of us in our own way. Most of my childhood memories had him in it. He taught me many things from landscaping to home repair and maintenance to welding and many many other things and for that i will always be grateful. The two things that have always stuck with me about him was not to do things "estilo valdez" (for those who worked with him you may have heard that a time or two. lol) and how he would switch words to a song and say "oh i thought thats what they said". I thought it was hilarious every time he did it. There are many other memories that i could write down but i will keep it short. "Nino" you will definetely be missed. Sandy and Monica i hope that your hearts are able to heal as quickly as possible. Love, LUIS.
