Humberto Islava

Sergio Humberto Islava, died peacefully surrounded by his wife and children on Monday, January 15, 2024. Humberto, as everyone knows him, was born to Artemisa and Ricardo Islava on March 22, 1949 in Santa Cruz, Sonora, Mexico. Humberto had six brothers and three sisters. Humberto married Dolores “Lola” in 1970 and together they had six children.

Humberto is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lola, and his children, Francisca “Panchita” (Andrés), Patty, Ricardo “Beto” Islava (Monique), Raquel, and Ana (Jesús), 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Humberto also leaves behind family and friends.

Humberto loved to travel and never backed out from the occasional day trip. His family joked and affectionately referred to him as “la patita de perro.” Humberto enjoyed watching baseball while sneaking in a michelada or two. The moments, trips and laughter shared with each member of your family will always be appreciated and treasured. Humberto will be greatly missed by his family, he was an exemplary husband, father and grandfather.

Sergio Humberto Islava, murió pacíficamente rodeado de su esposa e hijos el lunes 15 de enero de 2024. Humberto, como todos lo conocen, nació de Artemisa y Ricardo Islava el 22 de marzo de 1949 en Santa Cruz, Sonora, México. Humberto tenía seis hermanos y tres hermanas. Humberto se casó con Dolores “Lola” en 1970 y juntos tuvieron seis hijos.

A Humberto le sobreviven su esposa durante 54 años, Lola, y sus hijos, Francisca “Panchita” (Andrés), Patty, Ricardo “Beto” Islava (Monique), Raquel y Ana (Jesús), 12 nietos y 5 bisnietos. Humberto también deja atrás a familiares y amigos.

A Humberto le encantaba viajar y nunca se echaba atrás en alguna que otra excursión de un día. Su familia bromeaba y cariñosamente se refería a él como “la patita de perro”. Humberto disfrutaba viendo béisbol mientras a escondidas se tomaba una michelada o dos. Los momentos, viajes y risas compartidas con cada miembro de su familia serán siempre apreciados y atesorados. Humberto será extrañado mucho por su familia, fue un esposo, padre y abuelo ejemplar.

A visitation for Humberto will be held Friday, January 26, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel South Lawn, 5401 South Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706. A visitation will occur Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, 5401 South Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706.A funeral service will occur Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Our Lady Queen of All Saints, 2915 E 36th St, Tucson, AZ 85713. A graveside service will occur Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 1:00 PM at South Lawn Cemetery, 5401 S Park Ave,Tucson, Az
