March 17, 1939- May 1, 2025
Irma Solis Lopez, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and family matriarch, passed away
peacefully on May 1, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 86.
Irma was born on March 17, 1939, in El Paso, Texas, to immigrant parents from Sonora,
Mexico-Angel and Maria Pro Solis. In her early years, she lived in San Francisco, California,
before settling in Tucson, where she spent the last 78 years building a full and meaningful life.
Throughout her life, Irma was known for her selflessness and strength. She worked as a
devoted caregiver, touching the lives of many with her compassion and resilience. A proud and
loving mother, Irma was fiercely independent, deeply loyal, and beautifully stubborn. She never
gave up easily and faced life's challenges with incredible determination.
In her free time, Irma found joy in the simple pleasures: spoiling her beloved fur baby, Pepe;
enjoying time at the casino on the penny slots; catching the latest movie at the theater with her
daughter; and going out to eat with family. Her stunning beauty, humor, and tenacity left a lasting
impression on all who knew her.
Irma was preceded in death by her parents Angel and Maria Pro Solis; her siblings Norma Pro
Munguia, Ernesto Pro Solis, and Edna Espinosa; her grandson Ryan Jones; and her cherished
pets Tiny, Moose, Patches, Nacho, and Buddy.
She is survived by her loving children: Brenda Manuel, Connie LeMoine, Lia Castillo (Louie),
Linda Ramos (Jaime), Ray Romero, and Ryan Lopez (Patricia). Irma also leaves behind her
siblings Tony Corales (Blanca), Lina Hill (Darrel), and Rosemary Phininzy. She was the proud
grandmother of Yvette, Michelle, Ernesto, Carlos Jr., Elizabeth, Amanda, Joann, Renae,
Anthony, Alexis, Michela, Tiana, Jonah, Amaya, Adrien, and Rolando-and great-grandmother
to 18 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on May 12 from 5:00-9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Catalina. A Mass
and Memorial service will take place the following day, May 13, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PМ,
with burial to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery at 12:30 PМ.
