On February 2, 2026, our Lord in Heaven welcomed another Angel. JACQUIE O’GRADY didn’t walk over the Rainbow Bridge …. She flew over the Rainbow Bridge because she already had her Angel’s Wings. She fought for many years against several health issues. She’s now in a much better place and God’s holding her hand.
She was a Perfect Person in every way. Besides being super intelligent and having a memory for things most of us never thought of, she was kind, understanding, sympathetic and loyal to so many friends. Her passing leaves a gaping, yet warm, hole in her husband’s heart. She and Mike O’Grady lived wonderful, enjoyable, lives together for 45 years.
She was born in Albertville AL, in 1950 to Lucille and Holland Sauls. They later blessed her with a loving sister, Cathy Treece. She grew up in Boaz AL, and later lived in Auburn AL and Fort Walton Beach FL. She and Mike met in 1979 at Eglin AFB FL and married in 1980 in Hamilton VA. They lived in Arlington and Vienna VA, Riyadh KSA, Brussels BE, and then Vail, AZ. While she was overseas for 7 years with Mike (then working for Raytheon) they kept a home in Livingston TX.
In 1982, she gave birth to her only child, Karin Christin (“KC”), who is married to Ted Harmer. KC and Ted have 3 children …. Lucille (“Lu”), Rowdy and Sullivan. Jacquie was also a super stepmom to Mike’s son, Michael Ryan O’Grady.
When Jacquie came to Arlington VA in 1979, she was immediately hired to work for USAF generals in the Pentagon. She then went to work for several US senators and served on the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) staff. One of her SASC employers, Jim Roche, retired and went to work for Northrop and asked Jacquie to go with him to Northrop. (Jim Roche later served as the Secretary of the Air Force.) Needless to say, she had a career that many people can’t even imagine.
There’s another group that wants to be in this rendering ….. several who were convinced that Jacquie was/is their biological Mother: Fuzzy (Old English Sheepdog), Hollee (Cocker Spaniel), and Ribby (Jack Russell). Their tails are wagging fervently in Heaven to see their Mommy. Then there’s Puppy-O (rescued, mixed breed) who slept with her every night these past 9 years and is now becoming aware that she won’t be coming home. Dogs know everything.
Her passing is our loss, Mike’s, KC’s, and Puppy-O’s loss, and God’s gain. GODSPEED
