

Jeanne L. Nadal, RN, was born 30 June 1933, in Fort Plain, NY, and was called home to our Lord on 29 May 2013, in Tucson, AZ. She passed away from complications following lung surgery in the VA hospital in Tucson. After graduating high school, she served in the United States Air Force from 11 July 1951 to 25 September 1952. She married John Nadal on 27 December 1951. After her youngest child entered kindergarten, she attended Daytona Beach Junior College and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. Several years later she returned to Daytona Beach Community College and graduated with an Associate’s Degree as a Registered Nurse. She worked for a private urological practice for two decades, culminating her nursing career at Halifax Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, John D. Nadal of Tucson, AZ, and by their eldest son, Daniel W. Nadal, Lithia, FL. She is survived by her other children, Sherryl J. Bell, Tucson, AZ; and MSgt (Retired) James B. Nadal (and wife Karen), Tucson, AZ; and her sisters Mrs. Joan Brown of Lake City, IA; Mrs. Sue Laitala of Townsend, MA; and her brother Charles Leonard of East Pepperill, MA. She is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to he own military service, her husband John, daughter Sherryl, and son James also served in the U.S. Air Force, and her son Daniel served in the U.S. Army. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and friend. She will be remembered by many for her sense of humor, but mostly for her compassion for the thousands of patients she cared for, and for the unending love and support she lavished on her family and friends.
