Joe was born May 14, 1938, in New Philadelphia, Ohio. He graduated from New Philadelphia High School. He moved west to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1957, where he lived and worked, raising 4 boys, for about 20 years.
Joe then moved to Tucson., where he met and married his lovely wife, Doreen. Together, over the next 30 years, they raised 5 more children, and he took pride in grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As a child, Joe suffered from polio, but went on to make a full recovery. During his school years, he lived an active life and participated in team sports. He played semi-professional baseball. Later he played city-league basketball and softball. Joe was passionate about sports all his life. He coached all his children, both in Albuquerque, and later in Tucson. He was a mentor and father figure to many boys on the teams that he coached. He was a very active father in his children's lives.
Joe was a hard worker. He worked in the dairy and bread industries. He was a rout man, sales man, and regional director. Even though he was such a hard worker, he always found time for his family and faith.
Joe had a great sense of humor, and was a natural counselor and adviser. He knew how to encourage people through the many trials he overcame in his own life. With this godly calling he was selected to lead the Lighthouse Ministry at his home church, Calvary Evangelistic Center. He had a warm and welcoming way about him. Joe touched many people's lives everywhere he went.
As the day of his passing drifts further away, it will be his counsel, love, and advise that he left in our hearts that will continue to keep us going on. He will be missed very much.
