Sorry, must edit my last entry...I am COUSIN to John Joseph Slaby, not niece.  I am a daughter to John's aunt Marcelle Slaby. 

I am a niece of John's who was separated from the family many years ago.  I would love to have a picture or him, or any memories you have of  him, that I can share with his other nieces and nephews (children of his sister Marcella).  I am on Facebook, feel free to contact me there. 

I wish i had gotten to know him, but if he was anything like my grandma...his sister than I know he indeed was a great man. 
My condolences to all. Never easy losing those we love.  I suffered a huge loss in 2016 of my bestfriend-husband of 27 amazing yrs passed away on his way home to me age 39 on harley. Only a short few months later my mama Johns niece whom i took care of as she was disabled joined him. And the house of cards kept crumbling on down. I went from living a beautiful fairytale love an life to homeless in my car down by river.  Iam finally standing back up to conquer an prevail.  
Any way my heart aches for those of you who knew him better than I . If anyone knows more about him or has pics they could share id appreciate it. I dont know much about my moms side of family an would love to know more of my heritage.  Sending my love to all.


John was a sweet, special and kind soul.  When we were young, George the oldest then John and I the youngest by a few months, played the way cousins did.  They put up with the girl.  I can hear his voice and see his smile, forever.

John and I grew up together Im his cousin. Hes a brother to me, we did so many things together, I was best man at the wedding to Carole. I feel that I lost an important person in my life. I talked to him at Xmas we both said I love you to each other. I didn't know it was our last.
