Jordyn Azmarie Powell

Jordyn Azmarie (Azzy) Powell was called to heaven on March 11, 2023. After an 8-month battle with brain cancer, Azzy, 10, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family and loved ones. Azzy is survived by her father Jordan Powell and brother, Avery Powell, and her mother Azucena Fisher-Miller, bonus dad Christopher Miller, baby brother Calvin Miller, and numerous other family members and many special friends.

Big sister extraordinaire, Azzy loved to play with her brothers and was a very caring big sister. Her imaginative spirit and quick wit always led to funny stories, creative writing and lots of laughs. Having fun with her friends from Leman Academy and spending time with her huge family meant the world to Azzy. Spending hours upon hours in the swimming pool and even learning to ski recently were some of her favorite outdoor activities. Azzy’s true passion was drawing. Her sketches could be found, not only in her volumes of sketchbooks, but on anything she could find to draw on. She was a huge fan of anime and loved My Hero Academia the most. Many of her sketches were her friends and family in anime style.

While her time on this Earth was short, it has always been known that Azzy was born for greatness, and we take comfort in knowing she is home and destined for a higher purpose. A celebration of life of our sweet girl will be held on March 18, 2023 at 11am at Rising Star Baptist Church located at 2800 E. 36th St., Tucson, AZ 85713 with a Repast to follow at the church. In honor of Azzy’s favorite colors, please wear red and/or yellow.
