

Jose Ricardo Tena It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joe Ricardo Tena. Jose went to be with his wife of 67 years, Aurelia on April 6, 2014 one day before his 97th birthday. Jose began his life in Jerome, Arizona in 1917. Jose traveled to Nogales where he met Aurelia. Together they had six children, Nellie Moreno (Walkie Benitez), Elvia Dahley (Dale), Richard Tena (Diane), Edna Pearman (Pete), Leonard Tena - deceased, Nora Cuestas; 19 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, 36 great-great-grandchildren. He is survived by one brother, Solomon Tena and sister, Ramona Pedrego. Preceding Jose in death are Gerardo Tena, grandson; Joey Parra, great-grandson. In his early 20's Jose worked at the Civilian Conservation Camp. He began his working career as a miner. Later, he became a painter and started his own company. Nothing stood in his way. He loved hunting and spending Christmas with the family. Viewing for Jose will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at FUNERARIA DEL ANGEL, 7 E. University Blvd. Mass will be at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, April 12, 2014 at St. Augustine Cathedral. Burial to follow at South Lawn. We love you and will never forget you - Rest in peace. -
