For half of her adult career, she worked for Trans World Airlines as a flight attendant. She was able to experience the beauty in places like Paris and Italy. She married Jon S. Fitch in 1988.
For Joyce’s latter adult career, she worked in the retail industry. She became buyer at Younker’s Department store, in Des Moines, IA, and advanced to Merchandise Manager. She then became co-owner, with her husband, of Wolf’s, a women’s specialty clothing store. After closing Wolf’s, they opened The Walnut Street Fashion Outlet, which specialized in upscale consignment women’s clothing.
Joyce and Jon retired to Green Valley, AZ in 1998. They enjoyed golfing and socializing with friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. A private burial will take place at Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
