Juan Manuel Romero Sr.

Juan Manuel graduated from Tucson High School in 1994.

He was a devoted husband and father, and his steady care for others showed in the way he made time, again and again, to stay connected with those he loved. He is survived by his son, Juan Manuel Jr.; his siblings, Barabara J Valenzuela, Angelita Mejia, Ramon Mejia, Apolonia Santacruz, and Jessica Olivas; and many family members and friends who will carry his memory forward. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Alexis D Romero, and his mother, Connie "Chona" Romero.

Juan Manuel found joy in the simple, shared moments that bring people close. He enjoyed playing basketball and video games with his friends, and his sense of humor was never far away—especially when he was watching comedy shows and movies, happily quoting familiar lines. A true Steelers fan, he also kept a youthful spirit in the everyday pleasures he loved: playing cards, flying a kite, a game of Uno, and bird watching.

Those who knew Juan Manuel will remember a man whose kindness and selflessness were felt in both quiet and unmistakable ways—and whose warmth often arrived with laughter. He had a way of closing conversations that left no doubt about what mattered most, always making sure to end with an “I Love You.” And, in his unmistakable style: “See later, B*%$#%, Hell Ya!”
