Judith Joy Henderson

Judith Joy Henderson, 85 passed away peacefully November 7th, 2021. She was born in La Crosse, WI October 23, 1936. She married her love Alfred M. Henderson (Blackie) March 5, 1955. They celebrated 35 years of marriage before his passing June 17th 1986.

Judy was a devoted to her family and took care of everyone. Especially her husband who was disabled while having to endure having arthritis herself since the age of 5. She was a gifted artist and displayed her lovely paintings throughout her home of 67 years.

Besides being a devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother, Judy and Blackie were very involved with the DAV (Disabled Americans Veterans) and had both become commanders in the organization. They assisted and befriended many disabled veterans. She was the neighborhood mom and our home was a magnet for all the kids on the block.

She was a loving mother to Shannon L. Ward ( Jim Ward) and Vickie L. Ketterle (Joe Ketterle) Vickie preceded her in death January 19,2020 after losing her battle with Leukemia. Judy loved with all of her heart her grandchildren. Cory Renfro and Reece and Ryan Ward. She was a loving and devoted sister to Phyllis Foltz and Charlene Harding. She was Great Grandmother to Gadn, Brandon and Justin Renfro and Great, Great Grandmother to Tessa Renfro.

Her passions included painting, playing games and spending time with her family and she was always up for a day at the casino. Organizations that were important to her were St. Jude, Shriners Hospital, where she spent 4 months when she was 11 for treatment for her arthritis and the DAV. Our family will never be the same but her love will stay with us forever until we join her again one day in Heaven.

Memorial Services will be held December 11, 2021 starting at 3:00 pm at 2030 N. Powder Horn Dr. Tucson, Arizona 85749.
