Kurt Russell Esbenshade, 43, passed away a free man on June 23, 2023. Kurt was Born on March 21,1980. He was born in Hays County, Texas. He grew up in East Texas, where he spent most of his life. Halloween 2020, his sister Kassie moved him across the country to Washington to start his gypsy travels. He explored the small towns and mountains of Oregon for a while before making it down to Tuscan, Arizona where he unexpectedly passed away.
Kurt lived his life by his own rules, a good ole country boy. He loved music and to sit by a fire and listen to Texas Country till the early morning hours. He loved fishing and even once said, “it might be cold at home but its never too hot to fish”. Kurt had a passion for beating down the dust on country backroads while exploring and finding treasures. He loved the fast life almost as much as he loved fast women. He had a passion for backyard game rooms despite his hard luck.
For most of Kurt’s life he was a simple man. Kurt had a mean side that was stubborn as hell and he knew how to use his words to break you down. If you really made him mad or he felt you did him wrong you most definitely would get got by him, but you probably deserved it. Despite his temper he had an incredibly kind heart when it came to children, pit bulls or anyone that was just down on their luck. If you needed help, he would give you the shirt off his back or help you find one. It always broke his heart to see children or dogs in bad situations, and he would do what he could to help them.
Kurt is survived by his daughter Mariah Wooddell and her husband Marshall Wooddell; his granddaughters Guinevere and Royri, Forever remembered by his siblings, brother Dusty Esbenshade, sister Kassie Hinkle and her husband Jason Hinkle, along with sister Karrie Esbenshade and her husband David Harper. He will always be loved by his longtime friend Sarah Taylor, his favorite cousin Edward Boucher and his family along with being remembered by more aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Kurt was predeceased by his parents Roger Esbenshade and Toni Swartz Esbenshade. Along with both sets of Grandparents.
In true Kurt fashion, “The road goes on forever and the party never ends”. There will be one hell of a party at his favorite spot at Lake O’ the Pines on August 12th at 5pm. If you know Kurt you know the spot. In leu of flowers smoke a joint and blow it high in the sky. If that’s not your thing please donate to your favorite children or animal charity in his honor.
