LaVerne Katherine Lester

Born September 16, 1942, in Warren, PA. LaVerne was the cherished daughter of Joseph and Ann Bruto. She grew up happily in the small town of Warren, PA in the 50's. In later years, she moved to her beloved Tucson, as a single mom with her two children, worked full time and graduated from the University of Phoenix with her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

LaVerne was known for her kindness, patience, dry sense of humor and her creativity with all of her beautiful projects that filled her family and friends homes.

She devoted her life to her family, always offering unconditional love, wise guidance, and a warm home filled with laughter, excellent food and always a shoulder that was strong for whatever was needed. She also loved to volunteer her compassion and time to Tucson Medical Center, Baptist Children's Hospital, rocking babies and to the American Red Cross.

She is survived by her daughter, Regina Kolaja & her son, Michael Lester, grandchildren, Shealan Lester, Kellen Lester, Kaidrey Lester and sister Leni. Her legacy of love, generosity, resilience and loyalty will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A Celebration of LaVerne's life will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025 from 12pm-2pm at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, 5801 E. Grant Rd., Tucson, AZ 85712. Friends and family are invited to attend and share memories.

Her light will forever guide us and her love will remain our greatest gift.
