Lowell Ellis Lewis passed quietly May 31, 2020 at the age of 88. Lowell was born September 9, 1931 in Claxton Georgia. After graduating from Claxton High School, he soon enlisted in the armed forces where he proudly served his country for 26 years. While serving in the United States Airforce he trained and became an aircraft maintenance specialist. He received training on some of the most important aircraft that protect our country and served at Davis Monthan Airforce Base on the U2 spy plane while it was based in Tucson. He was honorably discharged in 1977. Lowell was preceded in death by his parents General Lucious and Johnnie Ray Lewis of Evans County Georgia. He is survived by his wife June, son Roger Raffety, daughter Margo Charissa Goodrum and grand son James Botts. He will be greatly missed.
