Lydia Baker was the only child of Bronislaw and Helen Olszewski. She was born and educated in Brooklyn, New York. Her husband of nearly 40 years, Frank Baker, predeceased her in 2006. Lydia graduated from the University of Arizona where she completed two degrees. She made Tucson her home after graduation. She taught in the Sunnyside School District for 33 years. Upon completing her public school career, Lydia worked at Pima Council on Aging as the Coordinator of the Medicare/Health Insurance Program where she continued to teach seniors and disabled in the areas of Medicare and Medicaid Insurance.
