Mabel Jane Tredway was only 73 when she entered into Jehovah's memory July 18, 2015. She passed away after a courageous battle with AML (an aggressive form of Leukemia) after her diagnosis a short time before. She was fortunate to be surrounded by her beloved family and the love of her life, William.
Mabel was born on December 20, 1941 in Farmington, W. Va. to Charles and Helen Jones. She grew up with 3 brothers and all 4 of the Jones children were musically gifted filling their lives with beautiful harmonies, her brothers went on to form barbershop quartets, and Mabel herself could often be heard singing and whistling complicated melodies throughout her life.
On October 28, 1961, she made Bill very happy when she married him and made him an honest man after giving him his first kiss when he was 12. Throughout their married life Bill never stopped showing people her photographs and loving to look into her pretty blue eyes. Their life together was always an adventure bound together in love and faith, whether living in a school bus or surviving the flood of 1983, they were happiest when they were together. Together Bill and Mabel made their greatest adventure possible when they had 3 beautiful children, Valerie Lynn, Brian Scott, and Blaine Jay. In 1980 the family moved to Clifton, Arizona where The Tredway Family would grow up and call home for the next generation. Mabel's first and favorite job was being a wife and mother, and her second job was at the El Ranchito tortilla factory. Later, she began working at the Rode Inn Motel, as a housekeeper and moved up to manage the motel, where she and her family stayed for 26 years until retiring in 2013. Mabel fiercely loved her children and doted on her beloved grandchildren. She was amazingly devoted to the people in her life and the values and beliefs she held dear.
As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mabel enjoyed sharing the message of the Bible with all she’d meet. Her hope in the Bible’s promises kept her strong until her very last breath, her faith did not waver and she touched the hearts of those caring for her with her peace and strong faith in the Bible's hope for the future. One of her greatest wishes was to see her dear friends and family again when she was resurrected. (Acts 24:15; Isaiah 33:24) Mabel and Bill were privileged to have a long history and many lifetime friends with the Clifton Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Clifton, Arizona along with their youngest son Blaine and his family.
Mabel is survived by Bill, her husband of 53 years, her three favorite children: Valerie, Brian (Lillian), and Blaine (Megan); her 5 gorgeous grandchildren: Chalia (Josh), Michael, Keegan, Haley, and Katelyn; and her brothers; Frank, Pete, and Jack.
