It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Malisa Martinez Arsola, age 46, on December 12, 2024. Born on October 24, 1978, at Tucson Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona, Malisa was the beloved daughter of Julio and Mary Martinez, who preceded her in death.
Malisa was a devoted wife, loving mother, and adoring grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Jeffery Arsola, and their four children: Jeffery (Samantha) Arsola, Gabriel Arsola, Myranda (Izayah Rodriguez) Arsola, and Matthew Arsola. She was the proud and doting grandmother to her cherished grandson, Daniel Santos Arsola.
Malisa dedicated 25 years to her work at Valencia Middle School, where she enriched the lives of countless students and staff members. Known for her selflessness and unwavering commitment to children, she consistently went above and beyond to provide resources for students in need, demonstrating her deep belief in the potential of every child.
Her greatest joy was her family. Malisa treasured road trips that brought the family closer, created unforgettable memories, and celebrated life’s simple moments. She loved supporting her children’s sporting events, often stepping into the role of a behind-the-scenes coach, offering guidance and encouragement with a heart full of love. Being a mother and a grandmother was her greatest pride, and her family was the center of her world.
A woman of steadfast faith, Malisa attended Sunday Mass regularly, grounding her life in her belief in God and her devotion to her community. Her compassion, strength, and unwavering kindness left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
Malisa was preceded in death by her parents, Julio and Mary Martinez, as well as her siblings, Marylou Vega and Ruben Martinez. She is survived by her husband, children, grandson, and siblings: Valentin Vega, Betty “Guera” Martinez, Lydia (Mario) Miranda, Rudy Martinez, Julio Jr. (Michelle) Martinez, Rene Martinez, and Debbie (Jeremy) Collins. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will carry her memory in their hearts.
A memorial service to honor Malisa’s life will be held at Funeraria del Angel South Lawn & South Lawn Cemetery as follows:
Monday, January 6, 2025
• 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Private family visitation
• 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM: Public visitation
• 6:00 PM: Rosary service led by a deacon from St. Margaret’s
• 10:00 PM: End of visitation
Tuesday, January 7, 2025
• 10:00 AM: Funeral Mass at St. Margaret’s Church
• 11:30 AM: Burial at South Lawn Cemetery, with a blessing by a deacon from St. Margaret’s
Malisa’s legacy of love, faith, and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her memory will forever live in the hearts of those she touched.
