

Born on April 19, 1933, in Ludwigshafen, Germany, Manfred's early life was marked by extraordinary challenges. As a young child, he escaped Nazi Germany and later immigrated to the United States, where he built a life defined by resilience, determination, and service.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force as a paratrooper during the Korean conflict before earning a degree in electrical engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He went on to enjoy a distinguished career as an engineer and innovator, serving in leadership roles in research and development at Con Edison and contributing to a variety of significant technological projects, including the early-stage development of electric vehicle technology.
Above all, Manfred was devoted to his family. He believed deeply in the values of education, hard work, personal responsibility, and integrity, and he instilled those values in the generations that followed him. His strength of character, quiet determination, and unwavering commitment to his family were hallmarks of a life well lived.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Max Weinreb and Sara Weinreb Peterfreund.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Pearl Weinreb; his sons, Ronald (Katherine) Weinreb and Steven Eric Weinreb; his grandchildren, Steven Ellis Weinreb; Laura (Manuel) Calvo; Samantha Weinreb; Brianna Weinreb and his great-grandchildren, Noah and Liam Calvo.
Manfred will be remembered for his perseverance, his accomplishments, his devotion to family, and the example he set for all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and in the values he passed on to future generations.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2026 at 12 noon at the East Lawn Cemetery on 5801 East Grant Road, Tucson, AZ in the Mausoleum of Peace building.
