Marilyn Ann Berg passed away on December 24th at 75 years of age. She is survived by her children Simone Berg and Michael Berg as well as her siblings Nancy Grossman, Janet Axler, Michael Grossman, and Deborah Harris.
Born in New York City, Marilyn was a long-time Tucson resident. She attended Tucson High School and the University of Arizona.
Marilyn was a lifelong poet, sometimes gifting her loved ones with poems on a special occasion. She participated in the Civil Rights’ movement in her early years and was an advocate for social justice throughout her life. Marilyn was extremely intelligent and possessed a deeply creative spirit. Her sartorial sense was edgy, whimsical, and unique.
Yet what defined her most of all was her ability to connect with others. She could hear and understand your triumphs and your pain, your aspirations and your fears. She would always inquire about how you and your family were doing, remembering all the details that you had shared with her. This ability was truly a gift to which all who knew her will attest.
Our beloved Marilyn will be laid to rest on Sunday, December 30th at 1 pm at the East Lawn Palms Cemetery.
