Marilyn grew up in Tucson and attended Trinity Missionary Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. After her move to Mesa, she became a member of Divine Word Church.
Marilyn went to Tucson High School, where the Lewis family was well represented for many years, and graduated in 1974. She was a founding member of the Tucson High drill team.
After high school, she began working at Gates Learjet and took some college and technical courses to possibly pursue a career in the airline field.
She began her position as a senior production operator for Burr Brown (now Texas Instruments) in 1983 and worked there until she moved to Mesa in 2011, almost 30 years later, where she took a job at ASU with Olympus Building Services.
Marilyn loved to go to yard sales and would go every weekend her schedule would allow. She was very excited to bring home “treasures” for her daughters and grandchildren. She loved spending time with family and would travel any chance she got to go see them. Her daughters and grandchildren were her whole world but she would also care for others in need as best she could. She had a heart of gold and would take people in to give them food, clothing, and a place to stay.
Once you got to know Marilyn you could feel the love and devotion she had to her family and friends. She had a great sense of humor and was so much fun to be around. She will be deeply missed.
A visitation for Marilyn will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 1402 N El Rio Dr, Tucson, AZ 85745, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
