Mary Ruth (Carter) Applegate, 70, of Tucson, Arizona passed away on June 23, 2015 to be with the Lord her savior. She was born on October 4, 1944 in Somerville, New Jersey. She is survived by her husband George D. Applegate; sister, Pat (Steve); brothers, Bill and Jimmy (Faye); children, Janine (Mark), Linda (David), and George (Rachel); grandchildren, Marcus (Raylene), Summer, Sidnee, Shea, and Brooke. Mary loved her sports, gardening, painting, drawing and being outdoors. Over the years she was active with the youth group in her church, enjoyed her time as a Girl Scout leader and hair stylist. Most of all she loved spending time with family and friends.
I shall be like a butterfly one of these days.
I shall leave my cocoon and fly away.
To where I fly, fly high to where the stars are above
Beyond I’ll be, to where the flowers of God are
Never again shall I die.
