Born July 7, 1936. Mary lived a life marked by love, faith, generosity and devotion to family.
In February 1955, she married the love of her life, James Bennett. Together they built a life centered on family, perseverance and unconditional love. After 6 years apart, Mary took James's hand once again and re-joined him in eternal peace on August 26, 2026.
Mary retired from the United States Bankruptcy Court, where she served with dedication and integrity. Yet her greatest life's work was caring for others. She was a woman whose heart was always open to those in need. Repeatedly, Mary would sacrifice her own wants, and often her own needs, to help her family, friends, neighbors, or even strangers. Her generosity was not measured by what she had, but by what she was willing to give.
Mary is survived by her children: Jim, Mark, Cathy, and Danny. Her grandchildren Nicholas, Brittanie, Jimmie, Logan and Devon, great-grandchildren Lauren, James, Cylis, Kayleigh, Aria, and her daughter-in -law Joanne. Eloise, Rena and many more good friends.
In the last years of her life, Mary faced the challenges of dementia with remarkable grace.
Though the disease gradually took pieces of her memory, it never diminished the qualities that sense of humor remained with her until the very end, bringing comfort and joy to those who loved her. Although she is gone from our sight, Mary left an eternal light shining in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved her.
As we mourn Mary's passing, we also celebrate a life well lived and a love that never faded. We take comfort in knowing that she is at peace, reunited with James, and embraced by the eternal love of her Savior. "One Day at A Time Sweet Jesus".
