Mary Jane Christoph

Mary Jane Christoph died peacefully on May 24, 2012, at the age of 86. She was the widow of John R. Christoph. The family moved to Tucson, AZ. In 1976 from Lake Forest, IL. Born October 6, 1925, in Chicago IL. She was a graduate of Barat College ('47) and received her Master's degree in history from Loyola University in Chicago. She taught elementary school for eight years. She was active in her community as a member of A.A.U.W., Newman Sustaining Board, Salpointe Mother's Club. Psi Psi Psi, American Needlepoint Guild, Tucson Woman's Club and Associated Alumnae of the Sacred Heart. Her deep faith, devotion to family and love of travel are her legacy to friends and family. She is survived by Mary Virginia Christoph, Terri (Pete) Stratz, Rae (Edward) Mathis and Paula (Michael) Culbert; brother-in-law, Tom Kelly; seven grandchildren, three great- grandsons, three nieces and one nephew. She is predeceased by parents, Francis and Pauline Hannahan and sister-in-law, Mary Agnes Kelly. Visitation will be on Friday, July 20, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY and the Funeral Mass on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St Frances Cabrini Church, 3201 E. Presidio Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart, 760 E. Westleigh Rd., Lake Forest, IL 60045.
