Our beloved Mary Redick was called to heaven on September 4, 2026. She passed of natural causes peacefully at home with loved ones. Mary was born in Tucson, AZ on November 13, 1931. She grew up in Barrio Hollywood and graduated from Tucson High School in 1950. Mary worked at Sears for 40 years until she retired. She married the love of her life, Glen Redick, a Canadian in 1966, as he moved here to work at ASARCO.
Mary is preceded in death by her mother, Laura Ramirez, her husband, Glen, and her brother and sister, Bert Ramirez and Nellie Castro. She is survived by her daughter, Cari Gibson (Steve), grandchildren Hayley Hootman (Daci), Danielle Hernandez (Jose), and Matthew Gibson (Unique). She was a favorite Aunt to her nieces Laurie Urias, Cynthia Johnson (Greg), Vonnie Ramirez, nephews David Ramirez (Becky) and Eric Ramirez (Elaine). There are also some great nieces and nephews and great greats.
Mary was so lovable, had a great sense of humor, was fun loving, was kind and generous. She enjoyed having family around and having discussions about celebrities, the world, Tucson and politics. She stayed on top of all the news. Surprisingly, she liked talking on the phone! She called us often to see how were and what was new. She showed us that she cared.
From her grandchildren:
*Hayley wrote: “What I loved most about Gram was ow she loved us no matter what. No matter what we did or what situation we got into, she loved us through it. She never made us doubt that she was in our corner or that she had our back. A memory I’ll aways come back to when thinking about Gram is spending the night falling asleep to 20/20, waking up to the smell of chorizo and tagging along to Aunt Nellie’s house to join them for their daily coffee visit.
*Dani wrote: “What I loved most about my Grandma was how thoughtful and caring she was. It’s something I strive to be and will always remember her as a loving and selfless person,”
*Matty wrote: “What I loved most about Gram was the unconditional love and support she had for all of us when we needed her. She was the foundation to everything that we’ve built for ourselves. I also loved her rice, her chicken tacos, her perfume and all the different dresses she had.”
We will miss you Mom, Gram, Auntie, friend…
