She played girls’ basketball for the Gould High School Panthers. She was an excellent student, loved math and taught her cousin to read and write.
She married her high school sweetheart, Atward Stennis in July of 1953. They traveled the world together with their two daughters, Brenda and Beverly. She devoted her time and energy to her family and was married for over 65 years.

She left this earth on August 14, 2022 at the age of 85 to join in Heaven her mother Arta, husband Atward, and daughter Brenda.
