Mayme Martenna Hutson was born on December 26, 1936, in a farmhouse in Elk City, Oklahoma to Ethyl Muriel Fannon (Steuart, Jones) and Carmen Casey Jones. She passed on March 18, 2026 just shy of her 90th birthday. Tenna was raised in a house which was also a store and grill, serving hamburgers and hot dogs to the school kids across the street. Each morning as she raced out the door to school, she grabbed a doughnut and a Coke. That was her lifetime breakfast!
She played the drums in the high school band and was quite the singer, often appearing at fairs and other events. Her greatest love was playing high school basketball. She carried that love as a lifetime fan of the University of Arizona Wildcats.
Tenna married Kenneth Murray Hutson (deceased) on October 28, 1955. Together they had 3 children, Ketenna Barrasso (Robert), Greg Hutson and Ximena Hutson (deceased). Her grandchildren are (in order) Chiara Jones (Chris), Noah Barrasso (Wagner), Kenny Hutson, Brennen Barrasso and Braelynn Barrasso. She also had 3 great grandchildren, Bella Hutson, Hutson Jones and Aniston Jones.
She followed Kenneth from town to town, Oklahoma, California, Alaska, Texas, and finally settled in Tucson, Arizona in 1969.
She worked for the University of Arizona as a Bookkeeper until she retired. She loved spending time after retirement in Rocky Pointe, Mexico until her husband died.
She was truly the matriarch of a huge extended family. She had 90 incredible years on this earth and always had a smile for everybody, even though she often suffered from health problems. Her love for the Lord was evident in all that she did.
She will be missed by all of us, but she is rejoicing with her many loved ones that she has missed for so long. She is pain free and living in glory. What a day it will be when we will see her again at the feet of Jesus.
