Merri grew up in Tucson near Davis Monthan AFB. She attended Borton Elementary and Safford Junior High. Merri graduated from Tucson Magnet High School, June 2000. Merri then attended A. T. I. and earned a certificate in Medical Assistant.
Merri later moved to Phoenix, AZ, then to Las Vegas to be near her mom. Merri loved listening to music, she loved attending church. She loved to stay groomed at all times. She loved getting hair and make-up done. And she loved to dress up.
Merri accepted Christ at a young age and she joined Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Amos Lewis, who baptized her. After moving to Las Vegas Merri started attending True Love Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Willie Jacobs, Jr. Merri believed in God and she lived her life by sharing with others and helping others like Christ did. Even after becoming totally paralyzed. Anytime you asked Lil Merri for help, she was always willing even though she didn’t have much herself. Merri was so loving and spontaneous, she liked to turn up with her friends. When you couldn’t count on anyone else you could always depend and count on her. Merri succumbed to her illnesses on February 17, 2021 in Las Vegas, NV.
Merri was proceeded in death by; Grandfather, Lester Waggoner, Grandmother; Louella Kirkwood; Aunts Jacqueline Waggoner, Janet(McEachern) Waggoner; Uncles Wayne Waggoner, John Lamont Murphy. Merri leaves to mourn her grandmother, Faye Waggoner (AZ); Mother, Johanna Kirkwood (NV); Father, Freddy (Nettie) Kirkwood (CA); Daughter, Aleah Bencomo (NV); Sons, Deemechee Olden and Kevin Chambers III ; Granddaughter, Ta’Lani Bencomo (NV) Sisters; Tia Collins-Bell (AZ), LaTanya (Karlos)Dixon (CA), Markeeta Williams (TX);Brother/Brother In Law Terrence Bell (FL); Nieces Tania Collins-Bell, Tayja Bell (AZ), Raegan Barefield (TX), Unique Kirkwood (CA); Nephews Tayjon Bell (AZ) and Ronald Coleman Jr.………………(TX). A host of cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends
