Michael Francis Malloy, age 65, of Tucson, Arizona, passed peacefully into eternal life on Monday evening, February 17, in the comfort of his home with his wife by his side. Born on May 5, 1954, in Ventura, California, he was the son of the late Ione and John Malloy.
Mike served in the U.S. Army and after a deployment in Korea, he returned to California to start his career as a commercial painter. He eventually established his own contracting company, Malloy’s Painting, and relocated to Tucson, Arizona in the early 1990s. Within a few years, he expanded the company in Tucson, gained long-term and loyal customers, and participated in the community's “VIP Business Breakfast Club”. When he wasn’t working, he dedicated his time to acquiring and restoring antique cars and riding his Harley Davidson.
He will be remembered by many for his generosity, his willingness to take on new projects, and the extraordinary support he gave to family, friends, and even strangers, in times of need. Mike expressed his love for others through acts of service and found joy through volunteering. He was dedicated to maintaining his sobriety through his fellowship in AA, and made lifelong friendships through the program. He sponsored many people over the years to help them achieve their sobriety and opened his home to ensure a safe place for recovery.
Mike is survived by his loving wife Antoinette of 21 years, his children Kathy, Linda (Jason), Shawn (Jennifer), and Nicole (Michael), his siblings Rita (Jerry) and Greg, ten adoring grandchildren, Christian, Zachary, Vincent, Francesca, Veronica, Simon, Thomas, Amanda, Shea, Natalie, his nephew Jeff (Christina) and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his brother, John and sister, Theresa. He will be greatly missed by his two little sidekicks, his chihuahuas Taco & Cruz who were always at his side.
A special thank you to Agape Hospice in Tucson for their compassionate care during his final days. In his last weeks of life he enjoyed the company of many friends, family, and service volunteers.
