“Here’s the deal” Mike R. Fulgham would say on his passing. I was born at home in Maben, Mississippi, on December 13, 1949. It took the doctor three days to make an appearance and then charged my parents, Erskin and Mary Louise, seven dollars and fifty cents for assisting in the birth. I passed away on Friday, May 10, 2019, at home with my sisters, Glenda and Beth, and two of my four sons, Jeff and Brian present. Son-in-law Stephen was also present, as well as my soul mate and ninth grade girlfriend, Linda. One son, Michael, lives in Argentina, and another son, John, is in New Jersey. Another sister, Jeanette, resides in Mississippi. I leave behind many Fulgham and Dewberry relatives scattered in Texas, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. Also surviving are ex-wives Pam Fulgham and Cheryl Logsdon.
We moved to Tucson in 1956 for family health reasons. I graduated from Catalina High School in 1967 and stayed connected to many classmates. I was a car racer, cruiser, and golf enthusiast. I served in the Air National Guard for six years. I then went from being a dental student at the U of A to an ironworker in my early years. I helped construct railings at the U of A, and spent several years building the Palo Verde Power Plant. I had many careers, but my favorite was as a Commercial Fleet Salesman for various auto dealers, both locally and in California, Nevada and Texas. Linda and I reconnected right before our 50th class reunion. We were together for only two and a half fun and happy years managing to log over 20,000 miles in our yellow Corvette while “seeing the USA in our Chevrolet”.
Special thanks to Stephanie of Casa de Luz Hospice for all of her kind care.
