I had hoped the reason I hadn't seen Mila in so long was simply because we ended things on bad terms and she had decided not to speak to me. I remember when we first met. I remember the good times, the bad times, and the too-long times in between.  I always hoped she'd found happiness and was doing well. I never stopped loving her and learning now that she is gone forever feels like a part of my soul has died. 

I love you, Jubi. I have since we first met all those years ago. I never stopped thinking of you and hoping you were well. I hope you've found your way to a better place.

I'm a Yaqui tribal member currently attending the CET program, a student from Culture Class, and I wanted to share what Mila wrote about Wild Burro Wash, after attending a Field Trip on 5/14/19.
                                        Wild Burro Wash Feild Trip

I greatly enjoyed my time on the trip to the wild burro wash. Getting the chance to meet and greet the Guadalupe group was interesting and blessed experience. The "Traditional Huya Kimuwa" (Entering Wilderness World) and being able to close our eyes to just take a minute to meditate was very peaceful. It felt exciting and calm at the same to better understand the environment the way we did. It's not every day that we actually take our time to realize the world around us is more than just a beautiful picture but has a beautiful sound to it too. Breathing in the air and taking in the life around us gave me a cleansing feeling. Being able to learn all the plants, Catus, as well as finding the drawing on the rock was insightful. The drawing was amazing to find due to the fact that it has been around longer than I came into this world as the nature surrounding the area. The birds singing and chirping away added an extra essence of beautiful in my mind. It was a very encouraging experience to see the world around us the way we did. I also enjoyed the trip to eat at the village Inn and the whole trip entirely.

You will be missed Mila.  No matter through all the pain you always shined a light.  God Bless

My high school Bestie! I’ll miss you forever and I’ll always remember all the fun times. All the help and advice you gave me. Everything we did holds a special place in my heart and I hope you are free from stress, and filled with all the happiness you could ever wish for. I love you and I’ll miss you!
