Naomi F Anthony

September 23, 1949March 21, 2020

Naomi Frances LeMaster Anthony was born September 23, 1949, to parents William James LeMaster Sr. and Yvonne Ruth Burris. At the age of 4, Naomi, her parents, and older brother Jimmy, transplanted from Colombus, Ohio, to their new home in Tucson.

She attended Sunnyside high school, and worked at a drive in where she would meet the love of her life, Charles Anthony. It was 1966 and they worked there together, and as she recounted, he perused her persistently until she finally agreed on a date, because “he was such a gentleman and she had to know what made him tick.” That marked the beginning of their 53 year-long relationship and they were married for 51 years.

Naomi was accomplished in her career as a supervisor for Burr Brown and Texas Instruments, and as an operator for Wafer Fab.

However, Naomi’s most favorite role will always be as the glue that held her family together. Her two children, Yvette and Wayne, two grandchildren, Micho and Selena, and great-grandson Rhys were her world. Not to mention, her two fur-babies who she loved like her own children, Nacho and Chica.

Naomi loved to crochet, crafting and cooking. She passed down the tradition of ornament-making and cooking huge amounts of tamales for Christmas, her favorite holiday. She loved camping, being outdoors, and dancing. It is impossible to describe her spirit, but everything about her was kind, passionate, and alive.

Naomi passed away at 5:35 AM March 21st after battling blood and respiratory complications. She passed on in the arms of her husband, daughter, and granddaughter, and her departure was peaceful. She is preceded in death by her sister-in-law Linda LeMaster, and her parents. Naomi is survived by her husband Charles, children Yvette (Ruben), Wayne (Rosalie), grandchildren Selena and Micho (Jynae), great-grandson Rhys, her brother Jimmy LeMaster, nieces Tracie and Natalie, step grandchildren Ramon Jr and Gabriel, Monica and Marlena, and step great-grandchildren Zoe, Michael and Kaydence.

Grandma Naomi, I know we weren't blood related, but that never mattered. Since the first day you met me, through Angelina and Zoe, you were very warm and receiving. Always smiling and a good eye for taste. You've made an impact on the lives of many, and I hope you know you will never be forgotten. I wish my son could have met the wonderful bright outgoing woman you were. May you crochet stars into the night and watch over us as we all grow. Love you always ❤💔❤

My favorite memory of Naomi was from my wedding, held at Camille Nelson's house 38 years ago. She helped by making food, giving me advice and was always so kind. I was lucky enough to work with her for many years at Burr Brown, we were and still are a family. I will miss you Naomi, may you rest in peace.

Chuck, Yvette, Wayne & family,
May all of your happy memories help you get through this difficult time. My sincere condolences...

She meant so much to me. Kept a piece of my mom (Sheila) alive these last 13 years. She made my baby shower happen, was there for graduations and retirements for our family. She will be missed. Love and prayers.
