Nicolas Gastelum Romero

Nicolas Gastelum Romero of Tucson, Arizona passed away after a long battle with cancer on Thursday June 28th, 2018. At the age of 81 he passed away quietly at home surrounded by his family. Nicolas was a strong, hardworking and loving husband, father and grandfather. In his younger years Nicolas joined the United States Navy where he was an airplane mechanic. Little did he know that back home there was someone special thinking of him. Jennie was a young girl in middle school that would ride the school bus with him for four years. One day Nicolas stopped riding the bus and this set in motion what would be a love that would last for 60 years. After, the Navy Nicolas spent most of his years working in landscaping and irrigation. He took his passion for landscaping home and planted a grapevine that would produce a lot of fruit the grandkids would love to pick. He lived the next 60 years with his beautiful wife Jennie and their six children and eventually a large extended family. He loved to dance to Ñorteno music and drink a beer next to his white Chevy truck. He was preceded in death by his Mother Tomasa, Father Reynaldo, brother Alejandro sister Maria. He is survived by his wife Jennie, three sons, three daughters, three brothers and one sister. Services for viewing will be held at Funeraria del Angel, 7 E. University Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85705 on Saturday July 28th at 4:00 pm. Burial will be announce at a later date
