Both parents preceded him in death, along with 2 brothers, Leon and Wilbur Gaffney, 2 sisters, Eddie Mae Wright and Catherine Gaffney.
OC attended high school in Hugo, Oklahoma. He loved sports and was really good at basketball. He earned a scholarship for college, but decided to do something else.
Eventually he ended up in Tucson, Arizona, where he saw, met, and married Cherry Lee Nolen, who would be the love of his life.
He worked as Foreman for Foley’s Construction Company for many years. In his spare time, he would coach some of the local Boys and Girls football and softball games. His most loved recreational time was F-I-S-H-I-N-G.
OC accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior under the leadership of the Late, Pastor R.E. Cox and late First Lady Anna M. Cox at Sahuarita COGIC, and currently under the leadership of Pastor, Dr. Lacey Colter, Sr., and First Lady Shirl Colter.
He was a faithful member and servant of Sahuarita COGIC. He worked with the financial department, but he was willing to do whatever was asked of him, not only for the church, but for his family, relatives, friends, whoever was in need, if he could help, he would.
Slowly his health began to deteriorate and he could no longer physically do a job, but could always advise on how to get it done.
OC leaves to mourn, his Wife of 56 years, Cherry Gaffney, 2 Brothers, Benny Gaffney (Pat) of Lawton, Ok ; and Edward Gaffney (Lisa) of Clarksville, Tx , 4 Sisters, Helen Tucker of Edmond, Ok ; Bessie McGee, Broken Bow, Ok ; Florence Hall, Idabel Ok ; and Cynthia Miller of Paris, TX. 1 Uncle, Clamon Gaffney (Mary K.) of Acworth Tx, 3 Aunts, Annie Marcy of Paris, Tx , Emma Rose And Mary Reeves of Clarksville, Tx
1 Daughter, Sherry Gaffney of Phoenix Az, 1 Granddaughter Vanessa Cephus , 1 Grandson , DeAndrea Southern, 2 Great-Grandsons, Keshawn Cephus and David Espinoza, all of Tucson Az. plus a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
