Paula Agnes Culbert, 62, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away peacefully at her home on June 12, 2026. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. Her presence and humor will be deeply missed. Paula was born in Lake Forest, IL on August 11, 1963. Fourth and youngest daughter of Jack and Mary Jane Christoph, Paula was very close to each of her sisters, Mary V., Terri and Rae, who have exchanged phone calls and text messages daily for years!
After graduating from Salpointe HS (‘81), she attended Northern Arizona University, where she met a cute, funny man named Michael Culbert. Over the next two years, Mike and Paula were blessed with two children, David Keith and Jennifer Rae and chose to raise their children in Tucson, AZ. Paula upheld a promise to her parents and graduated from University of Arizona in 1997 with a BS in Finance. Shortly thereafter, Raytheon Missile Systems hired a gem and she worked there for almost 30 years.
Paula loved to travel anywhere to escape the heat, including many camping trips to Mt. Lemmon, summer road trips to visit family, annual beachside vacations to Puerto Penasco, Mexico, cruises with friends, island hopping in Hawaii or trips to the Pacific Northwest to visit Keith and his family.
Mike and Paula enjoyed dozens, if not hundreds, of concerts over the 43 years of their marriage. Artists include Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John alongside Billy Joel, James Taylor, Maroon 5, Matchbox 20, P!nk, Miley Cyrus, Train, John Mayer, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Chicago, Earth Wind and Fire, and so many more.
Paula loved playing games and hosting dinners for family and friends. She always had the newest, best group card and board games ready to pull out at a moment's notice. The holidays brought traditions such as baking batches of various cookies to share with family and friends. Paula was also a big fan of TV shows such as Perry Mason, All My Children, X-Files, Big Brother, and Survivor. In a funny Paula moment, she shared her relief of being able to watch the finale of Survivor Season 50 before her passing.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Mike Culbert, her son Keith (43), her daughter Jennifer (41), her beloved grandchildren Damien (22), Jack (15), Carter (14), Capri (11), Toby (8), Payton (5), Harper (1) and sweet dog, Rascal (9).
Paula’s sense of humor, infectious laugh and loving spirit brightened the lives of all who knew her. Paula possessed a quiet faith that was reflected in her kindness and generosity towards others. A celebration of life will take place at East Lawn Palms Mortuary and Cemetery on July 19th, 2026 at 1:00pm. The family invites family and friends to join in sharing memories and stories of Paula’s life.
