

Maglene Dews. She was the second child of eighteen.
Pearline Jones completed her primary education at Stanton High School
in Tyler, Texas. She later married Leon Harris and move to Tucson,
Arizona. To this union, two sons and three daughters were born.
Pearline Jones was employed at Handmaker Jewish Nursing Home
where she would eventually retire after 47 years of service. Because
Pearline was valued so dearly within the company, a newly constructed
wing of the nursing home was named after her!
On May 28, 2022, God called her home. Pearline Jones is preceded in
death by her late husband, Henderson Jones, and her first-born son, Leon
Harris Jr. Parents, John F. and Maglene Dews; three brothers, Charles
Albert, Fred; Seven sisters, Zeffie, Helen, Francis, Debra, Ethelene,
Rhonda and Essie; Son-in-law, Anthony Smith.
Pearline leaves precious memories to be cherished by her children. One
son, three daughters and one daughter-in-law; Haywood (Delois) Harris,
Northlake, TX; Elda Harris, Evelyn Harris, Joelene Smith,
Tucson, AZ; Three brothers, Melvin (Betty) Dews, Oakwood TX; John
Dews, Tucson, AZ; Ronald (Sharon) Dews, Tyler, TX; Four sisters,
Ruby (Johnnie) Walker, Phoenix AZ; Doris Carter, Houston TX; Annie
Green and Linda White, Tyler, TX and one loving aunt, Lorine Dews,
Tyler, TX. She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great
grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
