Richard Paul Knapp

Rick was born on May 3, 1962, and grew up in Southwest Philadelphia. He and his family later moved to the Northeast where he attended Archbishop Ryan High School. Rick attended Philadelphia University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree. Rick worked for AON Insurance Company and most recently for Chubb Insurance as a Systems Analyst.

Rick enjoyed working out at the gym but really loved being outdoors running and bicycling. He loved the Arizona weather. He had so many friends and remained friends with his ‘sports battle’ teammates. He talked often of the many competitions with Frank, Chuck, Tom and Al and many others.

Rick married Karen in 2004 and along came the love of their life, Kasey. They lived in Holland, PA until 2022 when they moved to Arizona. Kasey is currently a sophomore studying at University of Arizona.

Rick is survived by his wife Karen (O’Connor), daughter Kasey, sister Kathleen (Jeff) and nephew Lee Christian. Also survived by his Aunt Louise (Dennis), Uncle Joe (Marge) and many cousins and nephews and nieces. He was proceeded in death by his mother Emily (Sovani) and father Homer Knappenberger.

Rick loved the NJ shore especially Cape May. He had many fond memories of visiting his grandparents there. Rick also lived in Cape May and spoke of it often.
