

Rita Rose Storm ( Nowowiejski), beloved mother and sister and good friend to many, passed away on May 1, 2025 at her home in Tucson, Arizona at the age of 96.
Rita was born on Oct 3, 1928 in Toledo, Ohio to Joseph and Evelyn Nowowiejski. Early in life the family moved to a small farm in Swanton, Ohio where Rita grew up with three sisters (Phyllis, Sue and Nancy) and two brothers (Richard and Michael). Rita never forgot the life lessons learned working on that small farm. Rita graduated from Springfield High School and attended the University of Toledo.
Rita was a hard worker and with her husband Arthur, successfully built one of the first RV parks in Australia. That successful enterprise allowed Rita and Arthur to retire early and move to Tucson Meadows in Tucson, Arizona in 1980.
Rita loved to socialize and made friends easily. She enjoyed crafts of all kinds and playing games with her circle of friends. Rita and husband Arthur enjoyed travelling with fellow RVers to destinations in Arizona and Mexico and international travel to Europe and South America. Rita volunteered at her church’s food bank and delivered meals for Meals on Wheels. Rita also led a senior exercise group for many years. She very much enjoyed attending St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Tucson. Rita was still attending exercise at St. Paul’s into her early nineties until covid stopped everything.
Rita has three surviving children, David Thatcher, Paul Storm and Sharon Jacobs (Storm). Rita has many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rita has one surviving sister Nancy Beyerl.
Predeceased immediate family members are husband Arthur and daughter Laura and sons Arthur, Raymond and Glenn.
Rita was blessed in her final years to have a dedicated group of caregivers to assist and provide love and friendship.
