Rod was born September 10, 1953 in Birmingham, Alabama, and entered a pain-free life in Chandler, Arizona on January 12, 2012. Rod was a U.S. Marine Corps Captain for 4 years, and then retired in 2009 after 23 years with the U.S. Postal Service. A true southern gentleman, Rod always had a kind word or compliment for everyone he met. Rod was an accomplished pilot who loved soaring into the wild blue yonder. Survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Susan Jackson; mother Margaret; mother-in-law Bernadine Bagnall; brother Randy; sister Lynda; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Earl, step-mother Mary and father-in-law Al Bagnall. Services will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2012 with Visitation at 12:00 PM and Funeral Service at 1:00 PM both at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, 5801 East Grant Road, Tucson.
