Ruben M. Gallardo, 83, passed into eternal life with our Lord, April 14, 2020. He was born May 4, 1936 in Navolato, Sinaloa, Mexico. He immigrated to the United States as a young child and is survived by his wife, Norma; children, Blanca, Carlos, Yolanda, Marisa; and grandchildren, Gabriel, Adriana, Cristian, Christina, Vanessa, Celina, Sophia, Antonio and Raquel. He served four years in the United States Airforce, later earning his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education at the University of Arizona. He had a 30-year career as an educator for TUSD and dedicated his retirement years in the service of others as a volunteer with the Tucson Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, and also as a Naturalist with Sabino Canyon and the Saguaro National Monument Parks East and West.
The core of his life was exemplified through the practice of integrity, truth, justice and above all, great love for his family.
