Rudolf Gerhard Hix

Rudolf (Rudy) G. Hix born October 10, 1945 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany went to be with his Lord November 2, 2011 in Tucson, Arizona after a brief struggle with cancer. Rudy's beloved wife, Cheryl predeceased him in 2006. He is survived by his son, Erik (Jennifer) Hix of Rockwall, TX and daughter, Emily Hix of Tucson, AZ. Rudy was best known for his warm, caring nature, his sense of humor and his love of music. He played many musical instruments, excelled in the trumpet and served four years in the U.S. Army Band. Rudy had strong ties to the local community with a long period of volunteering in the Boy Scouts of America, performing in various musical groups, supporting local charities and serving his church community in a multitude of board positions and as weekly worship accompanist on his brass instruments. A Visitation will be held 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 11, 2011 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Road, Tucson, AZ. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Lutheran Church of the Foothills, 5102 N. Craycroft Road, Tucson, AZ at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at East Lawn Palms Cemetery.
