Ruth Mary West

Preceded in death by beloved husband, Harry Everett West. She is survived by sister, Ruby E. Magnusson, 95, of Rockford, IL; daughter, Mary Ruth West and son, Harry E. West, Jr. (Janice) of Tucson; grandchildren, Andrea West, Connie West Dickens (James), James West (Shaughn), Joseph West (Rebecca), Perri Blackmore, and Randy Blackmore (Janice) and 21 great-grandchildren. Born Ruth Mary Johnson on March 5, 1918, she entered life in the loving home of Swedish immigrants Walter and Maria and was the youngest of their five children. A career homemaker, Ruth's passions were family, children, home, and friends. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren thrived in her loving presence and many acquaintances soon became Ruth's life-long friends. She will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.

Visitation will be at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, Monday, December 20, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, December 21, 2010, 2:00 p.m. at the same location. Burial will follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association .
