Ruth J Wicker

Ruth Joanne Wicker, 96, of Tucson, Arizona passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 8, 2022. She was born on February 23, 1926 to Arnold and Alvena (Hartman) Bushman in Pemberville, Ohio. Ruth was predeceased by her husband of 65 years and life-long love Donald W. Wicker. Ruth and Don were both raised in northern Ohio and relocated to east Tucson in 1970, where they continued to raise their 4 children.

Ruth and Don were long-time members of Streams in the Desert Lutheran Church. Ruth enjoyed prayer circle activities, volunteering at St. Joseph’s Hospital Gift Shop, Arizona Basketball, bowling, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Ruth is survived by her loving family: Son, Ken (Serenity) Wicker; Son, Larry (Tera) Wicker; Son, Gordon (Rebecca) Wicker. In addition to her 4 children, her family includes 19 Grandchildren, 30 Great-Grandchildren (and 2 more on the way) and 7 Great-Great-Grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to Donald, she was preceded in death by her Parents Arnold and Alvena Bushman, Daughter, Linda K. Avis, Brothers, Robert and James Bushman, and Grandchildren Justin Avis and Melody Wicker.
