Sandra Suzanne “Su” Thompson passed away on the morning of June 15th, 2018 in Tucson, Arizona. She was born in Phoenix and spent her life between Texas and Tucson but always said her heart lived in the desert of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, Doris Piper White and Donald Piper and her husband, Warner K. Thompson III. She is survived by her brother, Don Piper of New York; her three children: Crystal Rayne of Tucson, Jesse McReynolds of Tucson and Katie Thompson-Moyer of Texas; her grandchildren: Adrian, Chase, Amanda, Griffin and Patrick, Tatum and Melissa; and one great-grand daughter: Aerianna. She is also survived by multitudes of surrogate children and grandchildren who knew her as Su, Mom and Nana. She will be remembered for the many things she loved including her family, music, working in her yard (especially during the monsoons), her dogs, airplanes, learning anything new and had an affinity for moons and stars. She was especially known for her acceptance of all people, she had an established open-door policy and loved to “adopt” and care for all. There were very few times when someone wasn’t sitting in her room with her listening to music, sharing their problems or just enjoying the company of someone always willing to listen. A memorial service will be held for her on June 22nd, 2018 at 1 pm at Christ Presbyterian Church (6565 Broadway).
