Sandra Austin Wright

With heavy hearts, we celebrate the life of Sandra Austin Wright, who passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on April 26, 1938, Sandra dedicated her life to family, community, and faith as she embraced each day with grace and warmth.

Sandra spent her later years in Tucson, Arizona, where she found comfort in the desert's expansive mountain views, warm climate, and the quiet strength of community. Though she called Arizona home in retirement, Detroit, Michigan held a special place in her heart. Sandra's life was a testament to devotion - to her loved ones, to the communities she touched, and to the quiet dignity with which she lived her days. Her legacy endures in the hearts of those who loved her and the memories they will forever treasure.

In keeping with her wishes, she will rest in peace along with her husband, Richard Wright, at Mariners' Church in Detroit, a historic place of solace and remembrance known for honoring lives lived with purpose and compassion.

A memorial service will be held at Old Mariners Church (170 E. Jefferson, Detroit, MI 48226) on Sunday, March 22nd at 11am. Social hour to follow service.
