Sharon Lavonne Danhof went home to be with her Savior, Jesus, on February 18, 2019. Sharon loved her Lord and Savior and sought to serve Him with all of her heart. She was an amazing wife, mom and grandmother. She is loved, missed, and forever cherished.
Sharon was born on August 24, 1947 in Bozeman, Montana where she spent her childhood among many relatives and friends and attended Manhattan Christian School. Sharon and Jim were married in Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Churchill, Montana on October 14, 1966. Their daughter Ann Marie was born in 1968. Early in 1969 they moved to Tucson, Arizona. Their son, Jason Henry, was born in 1972. Jim and Sharon served faithfully for over 40 years at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, Tucson where they raised their children and made lifelong friends. Sharon spent many years volunteering at the Crisis Pregnancy Centers, counseling women and sharing the gospel.
Sharon's grandchildren were her heart and joy. She always had time to listen and offer a sympathetic ear or a heartfelt encouragement. She faithfully prayed for them, her earnest desire being that they all come to know Jesus Christ as their savior. Her loving touch will be profoundly missed.
Loved ones that went home before her are her father Henry Visser, her mother Berniece Visser, and her grand daughters Katelyn Marie Malm and Lydia Joy Malm. Loved ones that will miss Sharon until they meet again are her husband James Danhof; her daughter and son in-law Ann and Scott Malm; her son and daughter in-law Jason and Jennifer Danhof; grandchildren Lauren Malm, David Tyler Danhof, Tyler Malm, Jessica Danhof, Jace Malm, Reatta Danhof, Grace Malm and Emma Danhof; her brother and sister in-law Don and Lola Visser; her brother and sister in-law Bruce and Rena Visser; and her sister and brother in-law Sylvia and Jay Kitzing.
Sharon faced several serious illnesses in her life. Her final battle with Myelodysplastic syndrome, a condition that causes abnormal blood cells to form in the bone marrow, was fought over a period of seven months. Her friends and family, especially her loving husband Jim, faithfully cared for her. She patiently endured to the end, putting her family’s desires before her own until at last she was called to enter into the joy of her Master, who she so faithfully served.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you. 1 Peter 1:3-4
