

Sharon Murphy Eaton, born on May 2, 1934, passed away peacefully in Tucson on the morning of May 13, 2025. Sharon always claimed to be an Iowa farm girl, having been born in Boone, IA and growing up all over the state, finally graduating from Burlington High School in 1952. She first attended Drake University before finishing her undergraduate studies at the University of Nebraska. She moved shortly thereafter to the mile high city of Denver to teach 3rd grade, and while there met her handsome neighbor Jim Eaton from across the hall when he borrowed a cup of sugar. Sharon and Jim married in August 1957. Sharon continued her teaching career in Denver, Las Cruces , NM, Midland, MI and finally in Tucson where she moved in 1969 and raised daughter, Kim, and son, Scott. She also earned her masters degree in education at the University of Arizona. She is survived by her husband, Jim, son Scott (Pam), brother Bill Murphy of Denver, and five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kim.
