I met Sherley 4 years ago here at SAVAHCS as a new RN in 3 East. She was very nice and gave me good advices. She always smile at me and asked how am I doing. I will miss her a lot.

Our condolences to the Dee and Pasadilla families, to Sherley's husband Ben and sons Patrick and Bryan. Sherley (called Chuchay by her siblings) is the younger sister of Nellie, my best friend from college. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

This is a very depressing time for all of us.  I just wanted to share with you all some of the memories I have of my Ate Sherley, who was one of our mentors and truly made a positive and significant impact on my family's lives.

When I first met Kuya Ben and Ate Sherley in 2001, I noticed how much they cared about the Davis-Monthan military members, Tucson community, and their church congregation.  As a MSGT, Kuya Ben always took care of his Airmen and as a nurse, Ate Sherley always took care of her patients. They always volunteered with numerous organizations and were very successful, respected leaders in our society.  There were also many times in which I was deployed, TDY, or in training and Ate Shirley always checked on Maria and the children while I was away. Weekly, she would talk to my wife to make sure we're doing fine and to inform each other of how our/their children are doing.   SO many ways have they influenced and helped others on top of being wonderful parents to their sons, Brian and Pat; it's hard to find people with such big hearts, and we truly are blessed to have been part of their family.  
  
My wife and I think and speak highly of them.  We emulate them because they are outstanding role models.  They mentored us and helped us understand the importance of education, family, and saving money.  Kuya Ben and Ate Sherley always supported us, welcomed the other into each other's  home, and enjoyed each other's company through intelligent conversations, good food (especially Ate Sherley's enchiladas), and karaoke.  We also would watch sports, like the time when my Raiders pounded Kuya Ben's Broncos.

Maria and I just want Kuya Ben, Ate Sherley, and their children to know that even though she is no longer with us physically, she will always remain in our thoughts and prayers.  Even though we may not call daily, it is not because we're not thinking of them; we are, always.  However, we also respect your privacy and we also realize how busy you are.  Her wisdom and guidance will be passed down to my own children and many generations to come.  We will make sure that Kristina, her goddaughter, will always remember how Ate Sherley always thought of her and how much she loved her.  Of course, Kristina loved her deeply as well.  Kristina will miss Ate Sherley's yummy mashed potatoes and green bean casserole, but most of all, her hugs and kisses.  We all will.

If it was not for great leaders like Ate Sherley, we truly would not be where we are today.  We thank God that He gave us an opportunity to tell her all these things in person. He truly blessed us when we met this beautiful couple.  

To Kuya Ben, John, Pat, and Nicole:  If you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to contact us.  Ft. Bliss isn't far from Arizona and we're only a phone call away.  God bless and Ate Sherley, rest in peace.  We miss and love you.

Ben and family, so sorry for your loss.  I worked with Sherley at TMC and we had many laughs and experiences.  She was so thoughtful,and recently called me as I fought my battle with multiple myeloma.  She is one of those "forever" friends.  The world is a little dimmer now that Sherley's light has gone fom it.

I/we knew Sherley as Chay, a vibrant, energetic friend from HS/college.Chay was always first to give an opinion and I too would second the motion.Chay was like a sister who tells me things I want to hear. We got along well because we think alike. Together with close friends, Helen, Jake,Nomay,Fay, Myrna and Perry our get-togethers were always exciting and full of silly antics.
Chay was a good friend we will always remember no matter what. A friend who will always be on our minds.A friend we will surely miss forever, may you rest in peace my dear friend, Chay.

Sherley, may God bless your family. You were a great friend and always happy everytime we saw you. You were always so strong and cheery. Rest in peace.

I met Sherley a few times through our mutual friend, Jodi Peters.  She was a great friend to those fortunate to have her in their lives.  My condolences to her family and friends.

Sherely's passing is a loss to all of us who have known her which cannot be measured.  She touched so many lives with her thoughful caring spirit.  I will miss her tremendously.  My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

My heart breaks for I will miss Sherley's smile and tenacity. I have never met anyone so selfless and willing to advocate for those who needed it. God is lucky to have this angel who walked among us.

What a warm wonderful spirit. I am sure going to miss your smile and positive energy. The heavens look brighter tonight. God be with you til we meet again and prayers of comfort for your family and friends in this world that appears darker without your presence.

Sherley, I can't begin to express how much we'll miss you. Thank you for your friendship and for all you've done for our family over the last 23 years. Your caring and generosity were amazing. There's no doubt in our minds that if it wasn't for you, Nanay would not be with us today. RIP my friend. It's our turn to look after your family.

Sherley was so beautiful, amazing, funny, and elegant. We had good conversations and I will never forget her. She tried to smile through anything and everything. Sherley will be incredibly missed.
