

Socorro B. Flores
March 5, 1934- October 19, 2025
Socorro B Flores passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, at the age of 91.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Reyes and Guadalupe Bejarano: her devoted husband, Abram L. Flores: and her cherished son, Abie B Flores.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Sally (Detlef) Lange, and her son, Alex (Norma) Flores.She was a proud grandmother to Gloria (Alvaro) Castillo, Derrick (Anan) Lange, Dean Lange, Devin (Tasha) Lange, Alexander Flores, and Megan Flores (Carlos). Socorro was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren (soon to be nine) and five great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.
Socorro was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. She attended Ochoa Elementary, Safford Middle School, and graduated from Tucson High School. Her life's work centered around children and families. She began her career with Head Start in the Sunnyside Unified School District, Later transitioning to the district's Transportation Department, where she worked as a school bus driver until her retirement. Socorro had a special gift for connecting with children and was deeply committed to creating a warm, positive environment for them.
Outside of work, Socorro had many passions. She was a talented cake decorator and crocheter, known for the beautiful blankets she lovingly created for her family. Her greatest joy, however, was camping and fishing-especially in the White Mountains at Upper Log. Every summer, Socorro and her husband could be found beneath towering pines, near quiet streams, cooking by the fire, and welcoming family and friends. For over 46 years, their campsite was a beloved family tradition and gathering place. She was the ultimate hostess and delighted in every visit.
Socorro had a vibrant spirit-self-driven, independent, full of laughter, and devoted to her family. she never let life pass her by. She enjoyed scrolling through Facebook, keeping in touch with loved ones, and cheering on her favorite sport teams. Above all, she cherished every moment spent with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed, but her warmth, strength, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
